Hi, It doesn't sound to me like it's the moving process that's causing the problem. First thing that comes to mind is if you have the Numbers app on the Mini? Is the document saved with the extension visible? That is, does it read as document_Name.Numbers, or just document_name? If the latter, navigate to the file, press cmd-i to Get Info on it and locate the Hide Extension checkbox and uncheck it. Just making sure that the Mini believes it to be a Numbers document.
