Worse comes to worse, try moving mouse cursor to the selection, or selected grouping you want, then VO Shift Spacebar, and open the or expand the folder that way. Find the one you want to hear in expanded list, and move mouse cursor there again, then stop interaction, and VO spacebar on the play button. It's a long way, but it can work.
