Hi Gabe,

Not sure what has happened there but I'd be inclined to try reinstalling again
using the recovery that’s holding down command + R at start up and hold those
down for approx. 20 seconds, it doesn't need to be that long but I just do that
to make sure it starts up in the correct mode.

Then step through the installation again as you would normally hopefully it
will fix any issues you have with the current install and it wont wipe anything
of youts.

 Good luck.

Cheers,

Simon f

Subject: Computer not booting after updating to Sierra

Hi all,
I finally updated my 2011 MacBook Pro to Sierra yesterday. When it was done
installing it booted up and I used it. I didn't shut it down until earlier this
evening. A little later when I went to turn it on it gives the grinding and
musical tone that it always has when booting up. However, within about 10
seconds it gives a beep and then within about two or three minutes shuts itself
off. I've tried booting it a couple of times and have also let it just sit on
charge for about an hour. It is still doing it the same thing.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on and what this means?
Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Gabe.
