Hi The wd my passports and elements is simply a different casing and product witin the WD brand line.
There is also duo or dual I think there is also an essentials I know there are at least 5 different models with 4 or 5 different storage sizes within each line. One of the big things I've found is the prices between the different models can be substantial and most of all, don't buy the drives that are saying they are Mac formatted as they are a higher price I recommend to everyone to buy the cheaper drives not with the mac format label and then just format them yourself it saves you money here in NZ Hope that helps. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Traci Duncan Sent: Tuesday, 27 December 2016 6:07 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: External drives and Time Machine In your guy’s opinion what’s the difference between the WD Passports and Elements drives? I take it, you are reformatting the drives for Mac. A side question, does Carbin Copy Cloner take snapshots of your Mac every hour? This seems a little excessive for my needs. I just want a reliable backup of my hard drive. For a silly example, I was looking for an old ringtone and found it on my 2013 Time Machine backup.
