Hi all,

I just wanted to write to say that I have written to Apple accessibility re the
battery issue, and I would encourage others to do the same. If there is an icon
that sighted users can view, then there also needs to be an equivalent for us.
I'm sorry, but the notion that anyone would rely on a laptop--which
theoretically is intended for computing on the go--without providing them good
access to battery information is ridiculous. Yes, I know. You can go into
Activity Monitor. But that is a fairly time consuming process. And yes, you
can ask Siri. But that's hardly convenient or appropriate if you're in the
middle of a meeting, a class, etc. I had been planning to purchase one of the
new MacBook Pros, but right now, I'm thinking I may follow Jonathan Mosen's
lead and purchase a PC instead.

To my thinking this is absolutely unacceptable. If you agree, I encourage you
to write to Apple accessibility and ask that we at least be given battery
information equivalent to that provided to sighted users.
Best,
Donna
