I'm using a late 2009 mac mini, and was checking for software updates, and it mentioned the free sierra upgrade, so I clicked it and then got the message that it could not be installed on this computer, looks like you must have at least a 2010 mac mini, but in that case, why mention it in the first place. Kind of silly. The store application should not even mention an upgrade if your mac can't install it.
