iOS on a macbook instead of OSX anyone? LOL! Just kidding. I couldn't resist.

Hey, you said they were moving more to an iOS feel, so...

  It’s going to be interesting,

Apple have been moving things towards a combination of mac computer and IOS
touch system for a while now, so guess the virtual keyboard interface is on
it’s way.

I’m with you and we don’t have to go that far back. How many people did we
hear complain about the virtual home button instead of the real button like the
previous iPhones. Once it was released a lot of us who were somewhat concerned
(myself included) thought the new button was the coolest thing since sliced
bread. So the light bar does not scare me. I’ll tell you what sounds real
interesting is the 2018 keyboard design where all keys use a combination of
digital ink and some sort of physical key so that every key can be remapped and
the remapped function actually appears on the key.

I think that sounds cool and dare I say even useful.

Well, good luck to those who decided to go with the new MB pro.

I know many doubt, but look back to the iPhone 3gs, things worked out fine
in the end. Apple has a history of pushing shocking ideas to the for, and look
where we are today.

I might not be one of those buying the new Mac, but I would, if I had the
need and the money.

    Warm regards,

I just saw an article talking about how you can re-map and existing key,
such as control, caps lock, command or option, to take the place of the escape
key which is going away on the new MacBooks to be revealed on Thursday. There
will still be that functionality on the new magic track bar or whatever they're
calling it. But if you are a person who wants to have a hardware escape key,
you will have to remap an existing key to get it. For those of you who use caps
lock for voiceover, good luck. I have no idea how that Mike coexist with this
new functionality. Or you're stuck with the new magic track bar and it's soft
functionality. Could be interesting.
