Hi Declan, I use VoiceOver without Zoom and Zoom cursor myself, but I've set up these features for others. I just ran through tests of this mode (with someone looking to check these results), that cursor tracking works in Pages and Numbers (of Open Office) under Leopard. This configuration also works under Tables (which I use in preference to Numbers -- this was available for spreadsheets before Open Office became available). I set cursor magnification up to the maximum value as a check. (I usually have the zoom feature turned on to display things to others on my machine, but I don't usually do much work with magnifying the cursor unless I'm checking accessibility since this wouldn't be something I use myself).
You still might like to hear from someone who is currently using these features regularly, but as far as I know all these features will work for you under the latest version of Leopard.
