Thanks, I tried the VO+SHIFt+M and no dice  when I had Adium and Syrinx running 
at login but now, for no reason apparent to me, it works without anything other 
than VO running at login.  It just gets curiouser and curiouser as we wander 
through the looking glass.

Thanks again, you definitely saved some of my time that would have been spent 
assuming that this keystroke was also broken.

Now to see if Adium is broken or if removing it from start at login corrected 
its issues.
