Rapidly pressing the home button 5 times only works when VoiceOver is running. It has been corrected (does not work) when VO is off. This means, it should never be done, in any circumstances. It is also the only method which ever corrupted data in my old iPhone. In other words, perform at your own risk. I do wish Apple would block it from when VO is running.
