I’m figuring jammed up gateways or some subsystem is overloaded somewhere, 
maybe authentication or something.  I can’t imagine how much traffic Apple is 
dealing with right now, even with a CDN that’s a tough nut to crack.  I’m 
friends with their peering coordinator, will have to ask her if there any 
public stats available as I’m curious how much is being served up right now.
