There are a few possibilities for how Mac software can come packaged. In your case, you simply interact with the image browser, hit cmd-c on the Audacity folder, press cmd-shift-a, and cmd-v to paste. Once the copy is complete, that's it. Launch Audacity from Spotlight, or go into the Audacity folder and find the app file, optionally adding it to your Dock.
