If you download Scrivener for the Mac you get something like 45 days
free trial before you have to buy it. There is also a decently
accessible tutorial and a downloadable pdf of the user manual.
Although I'm not very efficient with the Mac, I have downloaded
Scrivener and am trying to learn how to use it. It does look pretty
accessible. It is also now available for the iOS platform.

It's also my understanding that Scrivener will not replace the need
for a full-featured word processing program like Pages or Word. So I
guess if you want to draft in Scrivener that would be an entirely
personal choice. I'm not yet convinced of Scrivener's value over a
traditional word processor, but that may be because I am old school
and used to working in Word. I have some sighted friends who simply
adore Scrivener and won't draft anywhere else. But as I said, for me
the jury is still out. It would be fantastic if someone would put
together a voiceover tutorial on Scrivener, but that person isn't me.
Maybe when/if I become more efficient I'll do something like that, but
it will be a while.

I hope this is helpful.
