Hi, Yes, in system Prefs you'll find only the name of the computer. On your external HD, where the backup is stored, will be what Time Machine uses as it's backup format, a Sparse Disk Image. It will be named the same as your computer name. If you Trash that, restart your Computer, then you should be able to empty the Trash and create a new backup. Depending on a few things, there are occasions where you need to turn off Time Machine first before it will allow the elimination of the old backup. Turning off Time Machine is found in the Time Machine pane of System Preferences.
