there’s a few other ways to go. First, you can go to system preferences, select sound and the volume can be set there, also, there’s a check box which says show volume control in settings menus or something similar to that. Check this box then when you press vo m twice along with WiFi, time machine and the other settings items you will now see volume control. You can enter this menu and also adjust the volume here.
Hope that helps. Also remember there’s a mute key right next to the volume so make sure you haven’t mashed that button on accident.
