If you don’t mind paying, there’s an even more transparent method that requires
no inconvenient file copying at all: DropDAV. Sign up at dropdav.com . This
one works by proxying WebDAV through to Dropbox, and because many apps
(including Apple’s) know how to do WebDAV to support the workplace, that means
you’ve suddenly got Dropbox support that comes natively, and you can seamlessly
switch between your computer and iPhone while using Dropbox to store the
changed documents.

Personally, I’d rather not rely on Dropbox, much less a third-party proxy.
That’s personal preference, for privacy, and because I like to know where my
stuff is. However, his is a problem in Apple’s apps, not in Dropbox or any
other storage service, which now implements the new document provider APIs.
You might like to reconsider the use of iOS iWork apps, at least for now.
Otherwise, DropDAV is your answer, or just manually copy data too and fro.
