Hello Donna, This is an excellent question and one that I posted a while back, perhaps on a different list.
Anyway, the volume button, on my Apple TV, only adjust my television's volume. Now when I first got my Apple TV, somehow, some way, I swear I was able to adjust the unit's internal volume but only once or twice. However, for whatever reason, I can now only adjust the television volume, nothing more.
