It amazes me that the company that basically launched the podcast does such a poor job at handling them. I used to think as a Windows user that it was just that Windows users weren’t a priority. I thought surely iTunes would behave better on the Mac. I’m not finding that to be the case. The most annoying problem is the way they get errors and then cease working until you go one by one, unsubscribe and resubscribe to fix them. It seems to be connected to having the machine go to sleep with iTunes open. I put up with it until this latest version made interface changes that seem to have taken away the unplayed podcast view, where at least I could force iTunes to download the missed episodes all at once. I realize one doesn’t need to download them to play them, but by so doing I can have them in a playlist arranged as I prefer.
So now that I’m done complaining, what are people using instead of iTunes to listen to podcasts on the Mac? I have some vision and do have a few video podcasts so I would want to be able to have those as well.
