Actually, from what I understand, that keystroke has been depricated.

  Importance: High

OK, this is on El Capitan 10.11.4, and am using VMWare Fusion 8.1.1.

I'm totally confused here. I downloaded the ISO image of Ubuntu 16.04
Desktop, and am trying to get the darn thing to install, but am having some
issues. I'm not sure if this is related to Ubuntu, or to Fusion. Let me
clarify and make this very clear. This is not one of the blind related
modified distros based on Ubuntu. This isn't Vinux, F123, Sonar, which no
longer is based on that distro anyway, but you get the point. This is just
native Ubuntu.

I elected to not do the easy install, so that this way, I could have it
manually boot to the image, and from there, I could install the OS with speech
using Orca. I have enough vision to see when the screen pops up with the
installer.

I noticed that by default, the window is not in full screen view, unless I
hit ctrl+command+F. Even not doing this though, I see two windows. The VMWare
Fusion window, and the main VM Library window.

If I press VO+F2 F2 to go to the window chooser, it tells me that the current
window is my VM. OK, that's cool. Now, someone told me to make it gain
keyboard control, I just need to be in that window, then hit shift+Tab. Then
to release control, hit left ctrl+left command.

OK, so here's the problem. once I see the installation come up, I'm hitting
VO+F2 F2, making sure I'm in the VM window, then hitting shift+Tab to give the
VM keyboard control. This isn't appearing to work though, as after doing this,
if I hit VO+M to go to the menu bar, it's working. My VM's not interpretting
those keys. What's weirder is, When I focus on the VM window, I here that it's
interacted me automatically with the toolbar, and placed me on the suspend
button. Therefore, when I try hitting alt+windows+S, also known as
alt+Super+S, to start up Orca, it's not launching. I tried also ctrl+S, but no
good. I even hit alt+F2 to get to the run dialog, typing orca, then hitting
enter. NO good. So, I really really suspect that somehow, my VM's not getting
keyboard control. So, ultimately, my question is, how in the world do I deal
with this? Does the VM not gain control right away when you boot the machine?
What could I maybe be doing wrong?

  Chris.
