OK, if you’re sick of hearing about Apple Watch bands, delete now.

I currently have only have 4 bands, 3 from Apple and one via Amazon.

I chose the black sport band when I bought my Watch. I have a stainless Steel
Silver one. The Sport band is comfortable in winter and all but when you begin
to sweat or even when cooking around a lot of oil and such, it can get hot and
begin to take on the smell of whatever is going on there. It’s not lingering or
something anyone else would notice but you will when you take the Watch off.

Then I got the original Milanese Loop in silver. It’s a heavy dense tiny
chainmail but flexible and really fun to touch. Its biggest flaw imho is the
magnet closure which doesn’t stay clasped and tends to slide just enough to
make the watch body move throughout the day. I felt like I had to keep cinching
it up. I also don’t like the different lugs for each end. One, the one you are
supposed to place on the end away from your body, is larger and causes the band
to lie strangely with a big roll on that side and a smaller roll on the inside
of your arm. I like symmetry. I do like how the band feels against your arm. It
has a much lighter feel when on than you’d think.

Next I got the black Milanese Loop band from Amazon for $16. Yes, it fits the
Watch nicely though it could be a tad wider. Both sides are equally spaced
against the Watch and the band snugs up very nicely and stays that way. The
chainmail mesh is thinner and can catch ever so slightly, making it feel almost
wrinkled but it smooths out around your wrist just fine. It flows through the
fingers like that gage of chainmail should.

I can’t speak to the look of it, does it have the diamond something or other
finish the Apple one has, but I got omplements on it last night when I wore it.

The issue with both the loop bands is that I have a charger on which the Watch
lies. I had to take the puck out of the cradle of the charger and use it as I
would if it wasn’t on that nice little cradle. This isn’t a deal breaker by any
means, just takes up more space on the table, or wherever you have the stuff
set up.

Then I got one of the new Nylon Weave bands. I have to say this is my favorite
band so far. I got the pearl color and no one has yet been able to describe it
to me but the color detector reports a number of different colors as I move it
around the band.

This is a band with a buckle that I truly hated at first. It’s rounded and I
like a flatter more beveled design in a buckle but it somehow matches the
rounded sides of the Watch so I’m used to it now.

The real positive attributes of this buckle though are how easy it is to fasten
and how nicely the holes are spaced. I love the way the Sport band fastens.
It’s ingenius. I wish they’d have made a system like that for the Nylon weave
band as it shows nicely as well. They did space the holes much closer with more
holes for adjusting than on the Sport band as they had to make them larger to
accommodate the little knob thing, which has a name but I can’t recall it off
hand.

What I like most about the Nylon Weave band though is how the band feels. It’s
soft but sort of shiny feeling and substantial enough that it won’t get frayed
or fuzzy. It absolutely does not hold odors at all, at least in my experience.
I’ve sweat, groomed dogs, made pizzas and accidentally put my arm down in onion
juice and just took off the band, ran it under warm water for a few seconds,
dried it and put it back on the Watch. Happy day.

I also like that the Nylon weaves come in a number of colors and may have to
explore some of these at some point.

I thank whoever it was who gave the Amazon recommendation for the black
Milanese Loop band.

anyone got others they like?
