Ok folks, I have a weird one and I need some direction. I’m running the latest
El Capitan release 10.12. whatever It think I can’t remember the number
exactly, but running a Mac book pro with 16 Gig of memory and a pretty hefty
hard drive. I noticed this this morning and this has never happened until
today. When I start voiceover, it works fine. But, my volume keys aren’t
working properly and voiceover goes away sometimes and it takes a total reboot
to get it back to where it needs to be. I’m not sure what’s happening but it
just goes away and things on the keyboard get sluggish and then totally
disappears as if it weren’t there. I’m not sure what is going on. If I try to
change voices it does the same thing. I have been using Alex but I’m not sure
if that has anything to do with it or not as I tried to change that to
something and it did it even with Nuance’s Tom and possibly with Bruce if I
remember correctly. I didn’t know if there was something I was missing today
not enough coffee and all but I thought this was weird behavior. As of this
moment it’s running Ok writing this email but if I try to do anything with my
volume I might lose it. Also my volume buttons used to work as of Friday. I’ve
not ran the system over the weekend but as of this morning, they’re not working
or behaving as they should. Does anybody have any idea what’s going on and if
there’s a fix or is this a bug that cropped up. I have been part of the beta
program and it may be a beta thing but I haven’t looked at that this morning.
In the plance I took earlier I didn’t see a new update there but you never know
with these things. But, I was stumped so wasn’t sure what was up. Does anybody
have an idea and can I fix this relatively easily? Thanks and take care.
