Hi Krista, If your going to setup a raid aray between the two disks you really want them the same brand / size / model etc. keeping everything the same makes the aray stronger they say.
However if your going to backup the data on the remaining disk then obtaining 2 new disks of equal size / model etc then you should be able to either put the new disks in the nas and set them up in the raid config you want I'd suggest a mirror, And then use a drive shuttle or USB adaptor tto connect the old drive to your system and then copy the data to your new nas aray Just a thought of my own. -----Original Message----- From: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com [mailto:macvisionaries@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Krister Ekstrom Sent: Monday, 11 April 2016 2:04 AM To: macvisionaries@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Backing up a NAS Hi, A couple questions: 1 what is ARQ and is it available in the app store? 2 and even more dumb, i have 2 Seagate disks that came with the server so i don’t know much about exchanging disks. Can i use another brand of hard disk or do i have to have the same kind of disk, if so, i don’t know if it’s even available anymore and what the price is. /Krister > 10 apr. 2016 kl. 14:17 skrev Sabahattin Gucukoglu <listse...@me.com>: > > Stay calm.
