Yes, it works but it's not intuitive because you have to interact with it then press it. Go to the table of notifications and then interact with it. The first thing is something that says "today" "clear button". It could be "yesterday" or something else too depending on how old the notifications you are dealing with happen to be. What you do is interact with the thing that says clear button and when you are on the "clear button" then activate that and it should work. I hope that made some sense.
