You don't need the Assistant Editor, first of all. That's good for opening multiple project files at once, but I don't know how it would help a basic playground. Once you type code, it should run after a few seconds. Any output, or problems, will appear in the Debug Group inside the Editor Group. Stop interacting with your playground and vo-right to the Debug Group.
