Hi guys,

I know that this is off topic, so feel free to e-mail me offlist so we
don't get in trouble. I'll soon be getting a Dell GX110, which is a
desktop, and already have a compaq Armada 1750, which is a laptop.
I'm looking for a good hardware synthesizer. I've got a KeyNote
Voicecard and love the speech on those, so ideally, I'd like a KeyNote
SA. But if anyone can give me a review or an audio sample of another
good one that would be great. I've e-mailed Humanware and they no
longer have the SA in stock. Same with APH and GW micro, though the
latter is now selling VocalEyes at a reduced price of $100. I've
heard the Decktalk, which is okay, and the Doubletalk, which didn't
impress me much. Right now, an Echo PC is my only option for the
desktop aside from my Braille Blazer which isn't portable since it's
also an embosser, but I can use it if necessary. It's not like I'll
be carrying the pc around with me. The thing is that the serial port
on it doesn't work and I'd really like to keep my parallel open for a
regular printer should I need to use one. I've got a Braille Lite
2000 and a Braille Note but neither are working at the moment. Do any
of you have a hardware synth that you'd be willing to sell? What about
a Keynote Companion? I know it's not strictly a synthesizer but it
can double as a notetaker for when I really need portability. Please
keep in mind that I'm looking for a hardware synthesizer not a
software one like Eloquence and I'd also like it to run under either a
parallel or serial port.

Thanks,
Eleni
