The only, and I do mean only, downside to the Otterbox Defender case is that with the case on, it may be difficult if not impossible to plug it into some docks to recharge. Yes, the little door flaps can, and eventually do, come off but that defeats some of the protection.
I have dropped mine on marble floors, into water and yes, when having a bad stomach virus during a business trip, thrown up on it and the phone was fine. I did consider burning the case but hey, a good soak and it came clean. Not sure Otterbox wants that ringing endorsement but vomit is very bad for phones, trust me.
