Hello Everyone, Apple just released a summary update Knowledge Base document about recent scanner and printer drivers supported under Snow Leopard. It supplies links to all the major manufacturer web sites that you can use to check for updated drivers for your printer or scanner. Most of the document is a table of printers and scanners with entries indicating whether print, scan, or fax functions for these models are currently supported under the default software released with Snow Leopard and its software updates. The links to the manufacturers' web sites for checking on driver availability were the most useful feature, since these sites often contain more specific update information for models not mentioned in Apple's lists. Here's the URL, and a short excerpt from the beginning of the document:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 (Mac OS X v10.6: Printer and scanner software, Last Modified: November 16, 2009, Article: HT3669) <begin excerpt> Summary Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard includes software for many printer and scanner models. This software can be installed from the Snow Leopard Install DVD, and installed or updated by using Software Update (some models have software available through Software Update only). This article lists software provided for printers and scanners as of 16 Nov, 2009. To view the complete list of printers and scanners that are supplied with Snow Leopard Install DVD and by Software Update, see below or use your browser's Find feature to look for a specific name or model number. If you cannot find a driver for your specific model, check the list to see if a driver is available for a series of printers that may include your model. For example, a printer with the model number 5070 might use the driver for the "5000 Series". <end excerpt> Cheers, Esther -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
