My advice is to ignore the unhelpful messages the Audible web app is giving you, and either browse the mobile site from your iPhone or just to continue to use standard VoiceOver navigation commands as you normally would. As with all Amazon websites, the trick is to try very hard not to notice how awful the accessibility is, and keep your hands off at all times. :)
