Hi, there is a command to show/hide the virtual on screen keyboard. Depending on the keyboard your using, the command might differ. On the Apple bt keyboards, pressing the eject key will do the job. There is no way to do this from the IOS device itself. I guess a work around would be to turn off bluetooth, and turn it back on when you want to use the keyboard again.
