Have any of you ever been in a situation where you needed to rescue your iTunes library from your iPHone and put it back in your actual iTunes library or just dump it on your Mac to decide what to do with it later? Ever take videos on your iPhone and wish you had a painless way to not only get them off your phone but manually and accessibly choose which ones you want? Well, I think I may have found something for yuh.
>From time to time, this subject comes up here and some of us have tried >Wondertunes, iTools, Imazing and others. Well, here's one that beats them >all. It's called Anytrans. You can get it here: www.imobie.com/anytrans It's a pay for solution with a trial version. The trial version lasts for seven days and then you have to buy it. So, how much is it? Normally, it costs $59.95 per single Mac license. The family license costs $99.99 and I forget how many Macs that will let you run. The idea is like you've known before from other apps of this type: namely, you have to connect your iDevice via USB cable to your Mac. One of the first things you will notice when you launch Anytrans is the fact that iTunes will open in the background. That's normal so that Anytrans can make sure that file tagging is in tackt when you do file transfers. Most of the buttons are labeled but in a strange way. The labels for most of the buttons are in the form of help tags. So, you might want to have your help tags turned on for this app as without help tags on, you're going to be pressing VO+shift+h a fair amount of the time. There are only a few unlabeled buttons but these are near the search edit box and some experimenting will reveal what they do. Anytrans will always want a minute or so to collect data from your mobile device before you can begin. To actuallly begin device management using the app, you'll want to pay attention to the buttons down near the bottom right hand corner of the screen. It's these controls, (which are correctly labled by the way) which tell Anytrans what kind of things you want to manage. For example, let's say you've got some great home movies you just took and need to get this stuff moved over to your Mac. Well, you press the video button. Now, You will notice that close to the bottom right hand of the screen is a series of specific types of video. The one you want to press is the "photo videos" button. You might think you press the "home videos" button, but, believe it or not, no. Okay. Once you've pressed the photo videos button, you want to move right down to the bottom right. Here, you will note a table which contains all your videos. You select in the normal way using the standard selection procedures with which you are already familiar. Now, you go to the left and press the button that pertains to the function you want performed, (copy to Mac) for example. Press this button. Now, it takes a little while, but it gets done. It's not perfect. First letter navigation is not possible in the file selection table. Also, the process window is very slugish. Anyhow, I hope y'all have found this useful. !
