Hello Andrew, While I am not certain why you cannot login to the app store from your Mac, I can suggest that you confirm your login credentials at the Apple ID manager page. It may be that you need to increase the security level of your password by either making it longer or by adding a symbol or two.
Go to: http://appleid.apple.com and sign into the portal. if you need to update your password, you will receive a message prompting you to do so.
