Hi list!! I've been reading the posts on this list relating to Twitter clients such as; Adium. I'm planning to set up a Twitter account.
1. What is Adium? 2. I've read it makes Twitter, Facebook Chat, and other IM softwares more accessible. Therefore, should I install Adium prior to setting up Twitter account? I've reread some of the list members' previous discussion on this topic as well as articles on Wikipedia, CNET, and elsewhere, but admittedly, I am not well versed in tech vocabulary. For many years, my knowledge about computers, software, and the actions performed using computers was only very basic...enough to open, use, save, word processing documents or emails. As a client of state services, I would only learn whatever a tech person could teach me for the 1 or 2 hours the state was willing to pay. So, the sessions never went beyond very remedial material. So, I also welcome any suggestions on resources out there. For lack of a better term, if there is a "Computers For Dummies" or sites, books, podcasts so that I may continue to be educated. I know having this Mac, there is a world of possibilities for me out there. I've probably only scratched the surface on 3% of what I and my Mac can do so I want to learn as much as I can so I can become as well versed as so many of you are. I respected so many of you with your knowledge, but often, I am so overwhelmed with the information I read.
