Hi, So if you are using your airport as a router then yes, plug in to one of the open ports that are above the already connected WAN port on the back. If you’re using a router and have the airport as just an access point then for best performance plug straight to the router although the airport will work it may just be an extra link in the chain.
Next, it’s very simple to switch from wired to wireless. Press vo m twice and slide over to WiFi, press up and down and select turn WiFi off. Plug in your wire and off you go. Use the same method to reenable WiFi once you disconnect from the wire. Hope that helps > On Oct 20, 2015, at 12:45 PM, Traci Duncan <our4p...@gmail.com> wrote: > > Hi all, a few questions here. > > If I am using a ethernet cable with my MBA, would I connect it to my Airport > Extreme? > > Secondly, do you have a recommendation to track my upload/download speeds? > > I’m downloading some files for a friend & our modem is now conveniently > located, so I thought I’d try out wired internet temporarily. > > One last thing, is it easy to connect, use the wired connection for a while, > then disconnect & go back to wireless?
