Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well.
First, let me mention that, as I hate to hijack a thread, I will post the following comments in a separate thread, as well as this one. Second, both Cara and I always appreciate any feedback on list policies as it is necessary to revisit such subjects from time-to-time. Third, I want you to know that, thanks to the elegance of the native Mac Mail application, I read virtually every post to this list so rest assured that your comments are being heard by the moderators and all of your suggestions will be considered. Fourth, at this time, the general list policy, implemented on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, in the thread entitled "MODERATOR NOTE: General List Discussion Policy Update", a few weeks back, stands. That is to say, all non-beta Apple-related discussions are welcomed on this list. Fifth, I ask that this particular thread, discussing the scope of list discussions, be closed. I realize that, due to differences in time zones, personal schedules, etc, many list members will not see this post, requesting that this thread be closed, immediately. As a result, there will doubtless be a few more posts to this thread. That's okay. Please do not take it upon yourselves to admonish those who may appear to be disregarding my request. Just trust that I am monitoring the threads and I will determine if someone is disregarding my request for thread closure. Sixth, in order to insure that this topic will not begin to threaten the fabric of the list's integrity, those who continue to contribute to this thread will be placed on moderated status. Finally, please send any comments regarding this or any list policy to me, off-list, at: mk...@ucla.edu. Thank you all for being a part of this community. Deidre, are you on the premium subscription to this list or are you on the Freeside. All of us on the premium subscription get regular updates and flyers from the administers about these things. Maybe put something in the footer of the message or get it to mail out a mail that doesn't get cought by mailing programs so they dont see the announcement and then have so much mail from said list that they litterally dont notice the important things till they complain about the huge spike in ios traffic or something similar. > > >> On Sep 28, 2015, at 6:40 AM, Phil Halton <philh...@gmail.com> wrote: >> >> Just recently, within the last few weeks, this question was answered by the moderator Mark Taylor. This list is now and pretty much always has been and "all things Apple" list. That includes the watch iOS operating system OS X etc. it makes a good deal of sense as the entire Apple line of products are all integrated and work seamlessly with each other. That is their intent, and so this list takes questions regarding all things Apple. There was a list devoted solely to the Mac OSx operating system, but that has gone the way of the dinosaur. That's what happens when you don't stay current. >> >> Sent from my IPhone >> >> >>> On Sep 28, 2015, at 7:47 AM, Nicolai Svendsen <chojiro1...@gmail.com> wrote: >>> >>> Hi! >>> >>> I would be curious of this as well. It does say that this list is the home of the blind Mac user community, so that it has degenerated into a list with so many topics regarding iOS is strange to me, especially since we have moderators. The description doesn't reflect iOS anywhere, though, and if both are allowed now the description should probably be changed. The name is rather misleading, but clearly, posting iOS-related discussions is OK here. >>> >>> Of course, that makes things a little confusing since this is Macvisionaries after all. >>> >>> Nicolai >>> >>>> On 9/28/2015 2:19 AM, deedra waters wrote: >>>> Is there another ml that's more mac related? it seems this list has degenerated into an ios mailing list andand i would like one that provides mac support only. >>>> >>>> BTW why do people send mail for a ios device to this list?
