Kawal, the recent naming convention is places in California. El Capitan is the tallest peek in Yosemite national park which is an amazing outdoor space in California that has been reserved as a national park. Mavericks is a place off the Northern California coast not far from Santa Cruz or San Francisco where one of the worlds most difficult and dangerous surfing competitions takes place. It’s set up where surfers around the world get 24 hours notice to travel to mavericks and then compete. Wave heights can be over 60 feet and have broken 80 or more. More than not there’s at least one death during the competition because the conditions are so extreme. Even spectators have been washed out to sea which caused the observation area to be moved way back but you used to be able to get right there on the water’s edge. Yosemite as you know is the park I mentioned. So you can see these names are California based. Still, I think El Capitan is the worst name for an operating system ever.:) > On Sep 17, 2015, at 3:41 PM, Kawal Gucukoglu <kgli...@icloud.com> wrote: > > Please could someone tell me where this place El Capitan is as I've never > heard of it.
