Hello,

I’ve forgotten to mention this so do forgive me. When you hit the shortcut key
combination, there are situations - unless it’s a straight forward logging-in -
that 1password’s mini window will open up and this is where you are. In this
window, you have a search field first and then a table of categories. So your
log-ins are stored in the category by this name, and your credit cards in the
category by this name. You also have a password generator row via which you
can generate a password if you are in the process of subscribing to a new
service and you want 1password to give you a strong password. You need to
interact with this table with vo+shift+downarrow, and then you choose the
category you wish by pressing vo+spacebar on the category row you desire. This
will open another table with which you interact to choose the credit card you
want in case you have more than one and again press vo+spacebar on it. I have
a few cards entered in 1password, and I have given each a slightly different
name so that I know which one is which if I am in the table of my cards.

I have mentioned the search field in the mini-window. I sometimes use it to
find a particular log-in quickly because I now have quite a few. And it’s
quite helpful. For instance, I’d type into the search amazon and press enter,
and the table of results will give me much fewer matches than the full table
would have been so it’s easier to interact with it, and press vo+spacebar on
the right log-in item. Just as an add-on, remember to back up your 1password
content in case something happens to your computer. There are various options
for that. There’s quite a lot on AgileBits website in terms of explanations.
Backup system within 1password produces its own backup file format and you can
store it away from your computer.

Initially, like you, I found this mini window quite difficult and learned by
experimentation. Hope this will help you somewhat. Ask some more if you need
to and I will try to help.
