Hi, I'm taking a long shot on this. Have you tried to connect the USB of the embosser first to see what port it takes? Although you stated that the virtual USB ports are not showing up, I thought this may be something to try to trip it. I use BootCamp and had no difficulty installing the embosser on the generic printer.
