Using the latest OS X and Numbers, I have encountered a problem from time to
time where I cannot edit certain cells. Normally I enter the formula editor by
pressing VO spacebar and that lets me edit the contents of a cell.
With certain cells however, VO+spacebar kicks me into the formula editor with
the contents of an adjacent cell instead of the one I want to edit. Sometimes
if I copy the cell to another area of the sheet, I can then edit it, but not in
its original place. I have tried everything including maxing the screen,
putting blank columns and rows around the cell in question, and copying the
cell to another place on the sheet.
Only copying to another location works and allows me to get into the cell with
the formula editor. All other attempts put me into another cell, usually the
cell to the immediate left of the one I want.

Again, it happens with random cells, I often can edit the surrounding cells
with no problem, but nothing I do allows me to edit the given cell other than
copying it to another location. Of course, in that case, I get references
errors in the formula so I can’t rely on that method of editing.

It definitely seems like a numbers bug to me, but I am hoping someone has a
solution I haven’t thought of.

Thanks for any help.
