That was what the discussion I reme,bered was about. When I was
awayt from the Mac for a short time earlier, it happened again but I
could not run down what it was from. I checked a ocuple apps I had
installed and updated yesterday and they were current.
I did another restart and have not seen another phantom window but I
agree, that is not the answer. Yet until I find a better way, it will
have to do. So I will try to keep track of what is going on and try to
make a connection.

Google Updater. Using VO-f1-f1, then arrowed down to the Google Updater item,
right and down to Go to Google Updater. I was able to apply the update and all

When you restart, all you’re doing is avoiding the inevitable. The message
will go away, but only temporarily. Once those background updater apps do
their next poll, and figure out that there is an update available, the pesky
message will re-appear.
I only know of three ways to locate then, the Window Chooser, the App Chooser
and cmd-tab. I guess you could go into the Activity Monitor and stop the
process, but that is no better than a restart, as next time the computer is
restarted, you will get the update notification.

Now I am. Running Yosemite latest. Not sure why it happens. When I find one
of these, and try to close it, it does not close. A restart helps. What was the
solution other than a restart, fi there was one? And does anyone know the
