I have a MacBook air 11 inch, 4 GB Ram, with 256 GB of hard drive space. I do not do any virtual machine work, but I do think that this machine would be sufficient for such work. As a side note, Windows XP is no longer supported and is not as secure as more modern versions of Windows.
