Tables work fine in Pages. I think it’s the only word processor for the Mac where this is true.
Personally I have no problem using Pages, I just wish they hadn’t got rid of some of the professional features of iWork09. It’s true that iWork09 will run under Yosemite, but the features I miss don’t work, since the address book is no longer the same. A few other things are flaky too, but these are not VoiceOver problems.
