I did find the program to be pretty good, but my issues were:

1. ABBYY could not work with scanners being used over the network  
according to ABBYY. So, my HP all-in-one running over the network  
using HP Scan Pro to drive the scanner would crash.
2. And this isn't quite a complaint, but I never could seem to get at  
the preferences. That menu item always was dimmed out and I couldn't  
figure out why and nor did I get an answer from support on this.
Were you able to access the preferences?

I will however say it did work as far as the quality of the OCR it did  
perform.
