Hi, Mail still occasionally has sync issues with gMail or other iMap installations. If you send, delete or otherwise do something that requires some mailbox movement, then attempt to quit Mail too quickly after performing this action, it will sometimes hang in the quitting process. I usually just make sure that I wait about 10 seconds or so after doing something like that in Mail prior to quitting the app. Also waiting until VO says Finder or some other app, like Jamie mentioned, is a very good practice.
As long as I do this sort of thing, I haven’t had the Mail stuck issues in quite a long time. Later...
