person's name or e-mail address?

Hi All,
i have a new Mac book pro. in mail how do I now access the address list?
before in mail I would press command option A and the addresses would come
up. Then from there I could choose which group and who in the group I wanted
to email. I cannot figure out how to do this in the new mail. Even if I
press the add contact option in a new message, I cannot figure out how to
choose which email I want to select.
any help would be great.
