Yes, I seem to remember that you needed to use a shortcut to bring it to the front for voiceover to interact with it. But there were also issues around moving in the window and actually setting up reminders or events. I tried and tried for hours without any success. I can't quite remember now, so do forgive me because I got so mad that I gave up on it. I should've written to the developer but quite honestly with my work piling on and life, I just couldn't face it so I cut my losses and ditched it. I asked some questions on the list about this but received no response so I abandoned the app altogether and stuck to its iphone version and reminders on the mac.
I'm sorry I can't be more helpful but don't waste your money unless the developer can let you use it for free for some time.
