Mary Jo, How specifically did you rename the file? Your explanation is a little confusing to me. If you renamed a file with exactly the same name as the first, the first will be overwritten by the second. The MacOS will, of course, ask if this is what you want done and will do exactly that if you confirm. If you renamed the file in the Finder, did you accidentally change the file extension along with the name? If so, it will not be easily opened as the file extension may not be matching the known file type to the MacOS. Regarding the underscore and the “At” sign, it sounds to me like you did things correctly. That is, if you’re speaking of using these characters in an eMail address, for example, you would use the shift dash and the shift number 2 to enter underscore and “At” sign respectively, at least on North American keyboards.

We all have questions, but if you want people to get interested enough to actually take time to answer your particular question you need to spice up the subject line a bit. You know, something to peak their curiosity. Another reason for relevant subject lines is for the archive. It makes it possible for people to search for answers to previously answered questions on the topic they are having trouble with. I know that whenever I see this type of subject line, I just hit the delete key. It’s just a suggestion, but you might get more response if you try this approach. > On Mar 7, 2015, at 10:29 PM, Mary Jo Partyka <choir...@gmail.com> wrote: > > I had to write a few letters today.
