Yes. I agree that *some* voices from Infovox are good. Mostly Ryan, Tracy, Lisa, Rod, Grahem and Lucy. That's pretty much it. All of the others sound very robotic to my ears and I have great ears, especially Tyler who is Australian as well as Lisa, and their new Scotish voice Rhona. As I said earlier, it's great that they can do exclamations, but when you make your voices sound like crap, all it is is a feature not really necessary.

Subject: Re: Infovox iVox Voices

Hi!
This depends on your liking of course.
But you have a lot of english voices built-in.
Many use the Alex voice and loves it.
I use Moira for english which is also built-in.
But i have used and still have a license for the ivox voices.
They are quite good and much faster on the mac than on a windows machine.
The english voices are very good.
Especially the US english Ryan.
At least imho.
The swedish voices are not that good but thats not a problem for you i guess. Personally i stopped using ivox because of that and also because they do a lot of voices which seems more for fun than for working.
For example the queen Elisabeth voice and the hip-hop voice Saul.
If people like that its fine for me but for my personal use i would like to have Espeak available as a voice alternative for the mac.
Ok, now i have come far away from the subject.
But as a summary you should at least try them.
Good luck and feel free to ask more questions.
I am willing to help as much as i can.

I am currently using Samantha in Mavericks. I have been thinking about trying Infovox. Is anyone using those voices? Worth the extra money?

What about the voices in Yosemite? Are there more choices, better quality, etc?

. . . what if it were true?
