Hi,

Actually, prior to Mavericks, iBooks were part of iTunes. Once the iBooks app
became a part of the MacOS, these books were moved out of iTunes deep into the
users Library folder. When you initially purchase an iBook from the iTunes
Store, you can usually choose to immediately download it or not. So, depending
on how or where the books came from, they could be still in the Cloud or on
your Mac. Purchased iBooks can be dowloaded to your Mac by selecting the book
then going up to the Toolbar and choosing Download or by routing your mouse to
the VO cursor with VO-cmd-f5 then holding down the ctrl key and clicking the
Trackpad or mouse. This will bring up the Contextual menu from which you can
choose the Download option. If the iBook already resides on your Mac, the
Download option will not be present.

HTH.

Later...
