The other thing to point out (and apologies if you or your student know this already) is that you can’t actually get to Google Docs directly by expanding the Apps link on the Google web page. You have to go into Google Drive first, and either open an existing document or click on the New button, which opens a menu where you can choose to start a new Google Docs document.
