Hello Jürgen, I reported the bug to Apple Accessibility as they pass the information on to the appropriate people. I couldn’t find any discussion about this on the web, so presumably, very few sighted users bother with TextEdit.
As for the menu at the top of the window, you find it by stopping all interaction and going to the first visible item. It says Paragraph Style menu button.
